In honor of Earth Month, join the new Happy Earth Hour event where networking and sustainability meet!

Join I Love A Clean San Diego at Chase Bank in North Park on April 14, 5:30-7:30 PM to learn from a panel of regional sustainability experts about reducing waste and caring for the environment. We’ll start the night off with networking, then transition into a Q&A session with the panel. Save some time to check out booths from local low waste vendors, and leave with new connections in the San Diego sustainability world.

Spring Cleaning Webinar

Don’t let the season of cleaning turn into the season of waste! Join I Love A Clean San Diego for our free Spring Cleaning Webinar on Tuesday, April 8 at 11 a.m. During this one-hour webinar, we’ll cover:

Green Routines Workshop

If you’re looking to eliminate waste from your daily routine, join I Love A Clean San Diego for our free Green Routines workshop on Saturday, March 1, at 10:30 AM at the Logan Heights Library! During this workshop, we’ll cover:

 

  • Zero waste practices to adopt in the kitchen, bathroom, laundry room and home common areas
  • Sustainable product swaps
  • Recommendations for local zero waste businesses

 

Attendees will have the opportunity to make and take home DIY zero waste cleaning and personal care products, and we will have our free Swap and Shop booth open anyone who wants to browse through secondhand clothes, books, toys and other trinkets.

 

Attendees will be entered into a drawing to win prizes including zero waste gift baskets filled with sustainable products for the home, and a $20 Visa e-gift card. 3 winners will be chosen at the end of the workshop!

Encanto Park Beautification and Community Mural

Join ILACSD and Think Blue San Diego on Saturday, October 26 from 10am – 1pm to revitalize Encanto Park! Through beautification projects, litter removal, and grassroots empowerment, we aim to transform this vital shared space to foster community pride and create a cleaner environment.

This event is free and family friendly, with plenty of service projects and art-centric activities for all to join, including:

  • Litter abatement
  • Community mural painting (Please wear clothes you are comfortable getting paint on)
  • Storm drain clearing and stenciling
  • Native seed planting
  • Brush removal
  • Paint-a-long class and arts & crafts DIYS with Art Power Equity

To Buy or Not To Buy: The Dos and Don’ts of Sustainable Fashion Workshop

Did you know the average American throws away 82 pounds of textile waste every year? Join our free To Buy or Not To Buy: The Dos and Don’ts of Sustainable Fashion workshop at the Point Loma Library on Saturday, June 1, at 10:30 AM to learn how to make your closet more sustainable!

 

We will cover:

  • Textile recycling and upcycling ideas
  • Low waste laundry routines
  • How to mindfully clean out your closet
  • Thrift shopping tips and local secondhand store recommendations
  • The environmental impacts of fast fashion

 

We will have our Swap and Shop booth open for anyone who wants to browse through or donate secondhand clothes, accessories, and other household items! Please ensure all donations are gently-used with no stains, rips or odors. No donation is required to take items from the Swap.

Sunset Sweep: Radio Canyon – Emerald Hills Park

Join I Love A Clean San Diego and the City of San Diego for a litter cleanup! We will divert litter from our watersheds and keep it from traveling to the Pacific Ocean.
Our staff will have check-in ready for you on-site. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes, closed-toed shoes, some form of sun protection (sunscreen or a hat), and bring a water bottle or two! Staff will be providing everything else you will need!
