Borrego Springs Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste Collection Event

This collection event is a community service sponsored by the County of San Diego – Department of Environmental Health and funded by a grant from CalRecycle

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE is unused or leftover portions of products containing toxic chemicals used to maintain your residence. Products labeled Caution, Warning, Danger, Poison, Toxic, Flammable or Corrosive are considered hazardous.

TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS OF HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE:

Leave products in the existing container, if possible.
Make sure lids are on tight so containers will not leak.
Transport containers in the trunk or in the back of the vehicle away from passengers and pets.
Do not transport over 15 gallons or 125 pounds at one time.
Containers used for transport must be no larger than a 5-gallon bucket.
Please tape household battery terminals.

EMPTY CONTAINERS: Empty containers with the lid on can go into the trash or be recycled.

Home generated “sharps” including syringes and lancets will be collected during this event. Please transport in closed rigid containers.

WE CAN NOT ACCEPT… Business waste, tires, medication, ammunition, explosive and radioactive materials, air conditioners or large appliances!

Watershed Warriors! Join I Love A Clean San Diego and the County of San Diego for a litter cleanup in Dos Picos. We will pick up trash around Dos Picos County Park to divert waste from the San Diego watershed and maintain the natural beauty of the community!

I Love A Clean San Diego will bring all the cleanup supplies and explain the impact of this cleanup on our watershed. We also provide community service hours and Letters of Appreciation for volunteers. This is a great opportunity for students and families to learn ways to protect our local environment!

We encourage volunteers to bring your own reusable items such as water bottles, work gloves, and buckets to promote zero-waste practices and help us in our mission to have a zero waste, litter free and environmentally engaged San Diego region!

All volunteers are required to fill out a waiver form to participate and anyone under the age of 18 needs a waiver signed by their parent or guardian.

We will pick up trash around the Historic San Luis Rey Bridge and along the Bonsall Preserve to divert waste from the San Luis Rey watershed and maintain the natural beauty of the community!

We also provide community service hours and Letters of Appreciation for volunteers. This is a great opportunity for students and families to learn ways to protect our local environment!

Watershed Warriors: San Dieguito Community Cleanup

Join ILACSD as we partner with the County of San Diego for a volunteer cleanup event of San Dieguito County Park.  Volunteers will remove litter as well as prevent future litter by stenciling storm drains in the area with a pollution prevention message.

All supplies are provided, but help reduce waste by bringing your own reusable water bottle, bucket to collect litter and gardening or work gloves.  Volunteers are advised to wear comfortable close toed shoes and sun protection.

All volunteers must sign a waiver regardless of age, and minors under the age of 18 require an additional parent or guardian signature on their waiver form.  Save time in line and print yours in advance here.

Raise a glass—and make a lasting difference – at I Love A Clean San Diego’s 65th Anniversary Benefit! Your ticket purchase is not only a gift to support environmental education and volunteer programs that benefit all of San Diego County, but a way to celebrate and network with other influential supporters of our community’s longest-running environmental nonprofit.

5:30 p.m. Social Hour and Networking, Live Music, Hors d’oeuvres, Auctions, and more!

7 p.m. – 8 p.m. One-Hour Dinner Cruise on Mission Bay, Awards, Entertainment (Check-in will close at 6:45 p.m. and all guests must be on board for the 7 p.m. departure)

8 p.m. Cruise ends, dining and entertainment continue!

9 p.m. Event Concludes

Who: More than 200 business and community leaders who support our zero waste vision for San Diego County.

What: An upbeat social mixer and dinner cruise on Mission Bay, featuring live music, entertainment, silent and live auctions, and more aboard the elegant William D. Evans sternwheeler. We will also be recognizing outstanding volunteers, educators, and advocates who partner with I Love A Clean San Diego to inspire conservation and environmental action throughout our region.

iHeart Media Cleanup with San Diego County Toyota Dealers

Join I Love A Clean San Diego, iHeart Media, and San Diego County Toyota Dealers for a cleanup at Mission Beach Park, 3000 Mission Blvd, San Diego, CA 92109.  All supplies are provided, but help reduce waste by bringing your own reusable water bottle, bucket to collect trash, and gardening or work gloves.  Volunteers are advised to wear comfortable closed toed shoes and sun protection.

Channel 933 will be on site for the cleanup playing music to enjoy while you volunteer!

Unlike our normal cleanups, this cleanup does not have a registration page – just come out and join us, no need to register ahead-of-time.  Volunteers of all ages are welcome to participate, and all volunteers must sign a waiver regardless of age.  Minors under the age of 18 require a parent or guardian signature on their waiver form.
