Sunset Sweep: Manzanita Canyon Cleanup

Join I Love A Clean San DiegoSan Diego Canyonlands and Think Blue San Diego for a litter cleanup at Manzanita Canyon! We will divert litter from our watersheds and keep it from traveling to the Pacific Ocean.

Our staff will have check-in ready for you on site. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes, closed-toed shoes, some form of sun protection (sunscreen or a hat) and bring a water bottle or two! Staff will be providing everything else you will need!

Kids Ocean Day 2023

Join I Love A Clean San Diego to support this years Kids Ocean Day 2023 Kids Adopt A Beach cleanup on Thursday, May 25th, 8:15 am – 12:00 pm, nearly 1000 students will join us to support this year’s theme of “Give Nature A Chance”.

We are seeking 120 adult community volunteers to support the student led cleanup!

This event requires a signed release-of-liability waiver for all volunteers, and anyone under 18 needs a waiver signed by a guardian.

Sunset Sweep: Hollywood Canyon Cleanup

Join I Love A Clean San Diego, San Diego Canyonlands, and Think Blue San Diego for a litter cleanup in Hollywood Canyon! We will divert litter from the San Diego Bay Watershed and keep it from traveling to the Pacific Ocean.

We will be set-up with a check-in table and supplies at Hollywood Park. Join us at 3pm to learn about our watersheds and help us clean up the neighborhood!

We will sort, weigh, and dispose of collected litter, and after the cleanup you can request a community service letter in your Community Hub dashboard.

Watershed Warriors: Pine Valley Community Cleanup

Join I Love A Clean San Diego and the County of San Diego for a litter cleanup in Pine Valley! We will divert litter from the Tijuana Watershed and keep it from traveling to the Pacific Ocean.

Our staff will be set-up with a check-in table at Pine Valley Village. Join us at 9am for a talk by our Education Team about our watersheds and recycling right, then grab supplies and help us clean up the neighborhood!
We will sort, weigh, and dispose of collected litter, and after the cleanup you can request a community service letter in your Community Hub dashboard.

Watershed Warriors: Escondido Community Cleanup 3/4/23

Join I Love A Clean San Diego, the Escondido Creek Conservancy, and the County of San Diego for a litter cleanup in Escondido! We will divert litter from the Carlsbad Watershed and keep it from traveling to the Pacific Ocean. Our staff will be set-up with a check-in table at Escondido Creek in Harmony Grove. Join us at 9am for a talk by our Education Team about our watersheds and recycling right, then grab supplies and help us clean up! We will sort and dispose of collected litter, and after the cleanup you can receive community service verification in your Community Hub dashboard.

This event requires a signed release-of-liability waiver for all volunteers, and anyone under 18 needs a waiver signed by a guardian. Please download and print the waiver below, sign, and bring with you to this cleanup.

Service project: volunteers will be loading branches, weighing between 5 and 25 pounds, into the provided 40 yard dumpster. Gloves, long sleeves, and sturdy shoes are recommended, as branches can be scratchy and the ground is uneven.

Parking: Available along Harmony Grove Road. See map attachment above. We encourage carpooling to this location!

Bathrooms: Available 2-minute drive away at Harmony Grove Community Park.

 

Coffee Date Cleanup 2/11/23 with Think Blue San Diego

Join I Love A Clean San Diego and Think Blue San Diego for a Valentine’s weekend litter cleanup in Barrio Logan! We will divert litter from the Chollas Watershed and keep it from traveling to the Pacific Ocean.

Our staff will be set-up with a check-in table at Memorial Dog Park. Join us at 9am for a talk about our watersheds and recycling right, then grab supplies and help us clean up the neighborhood!

We will sort, weigh, and dispose of collected litter, and after the cleanup you can request a community service letter in your Community Hub dashboard.  Enjoy fresh coffee and hot cocoa thanks to our partner, Café Moto! They will be at the event kick-off site from 9am to 11am serving free drinks from the Café Moto van or pop up tent (weather permitting).

Service Projects:

We have an additional Storm Drain Stenciling Project you can do during this cleanup to DOUBLE your community service hours! This involves painting a conservation message on storm drains in the neighborhood. All supplies provided and no experience necessary. E-mail staff at lmann@cleansd.org to reserve your kit. Sunset Sweep: Auburn Creek Community Cleanup

Join I Love A Clean San Diego, San Diego Canyonlands, and Think Blue San Diego for a VIRTUAL litter cleanup in the Auburn Creek neighborhood! We will collect trash from around the community and keep it from traveling through the canyons into the Pacific Ocean.

It is important to stay safe and avoid group-gatherings right now, so we are turning the focus of our canyon cleanups away from public places and towards canyon-adjacent neighborhoods! Have you noticed any areas near your home that need a pick-me-up? Please join us in protecting the environment as well as ourselves, and “sunset sweep” in this neighborhood Thursday afternoon.

Get your family 6-ft apart together for a cleanup down the street! Invite your neighbors and practice social distancing. Bring a bucket or bag from home, grab some kitchen or gardening gloves, and don’t forget your face-covering. You can make this cleanup truly zero-waste by using your own reusable supplies!

Kick-off at 3pm with our included video introduction, then get out there to beautify your canyon neighborhood! We’ll make it a breeze to sort what you collect and dispose of it in your correct residential bins. After your cleanup report your totals in our Volunteer Impact map to track our accomplishments!
