Join I Love A Clean San Diego, Fallbrook Beautification Alliance, and the County of San Diego for a litter cleanup and clothing swap party in Fallbrook! Our staff will be set-up with a check-in table and supplies at Vince Ross Village Square starting at 9am!

 9 a.m. – 11 a.mWatershed Warriors: Fallbrook Community Cleanup – We will be set up with a check-in table and cleanup supplies at Vince Ross Village Square. Join us to grab supplies and help us cleanup to protect the neighborhood and benefit watershed protection through litter reduction! After the cleanup, you can get service credit in your Community Hub dashboard. Click the orange button below to register for the cleanup!

10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Clothing Swap Party – You can update your wardrobe before the winter season and help divert textile waste from our local landfills, helping the environment by creating a circular economy! Bring your gently used clothing items to Vince Ross Village Square and exchange them for other items at no cost. By participating in the swap, you will be helping to conserve natural resources, reducing the environmental footprint of producing new goods and building community.

You can attend either or both activities
separate or together, whatever you have time and interest for! The cleanup will kick-off at 9 a.m. and the Swap Party will be kicking off at 10 am next to the cleanup check in station.

Watershed Warriors: Fallbrook Cleanup

Join I Love A Clean San DiegoFallbrook Beautification Alliance, and the County of San Diego for a litter cleanup in Fallbrook! We will divert litter from the San Luis Rey Watershed and keep it from traveling to the Pacific Ocean.

Our staff will be set-up with a check-in table and supplies at Fallbrook Branch Library. Join us at 9am for a talk by our Education Team about our watersheds and recycling right, then grab supplies and help us clean up!

This event requires a signed release-of-liability waiver for all volunteers, and anyone under 18 needs a waiver signed by a guardian.

Watershed Warriors: Fallbrook VIRTUAL Community Cleanup

Join us for a VIRTUAL litter cleanup in Fallbrook! We will collect trash from around the Fallbrook community to divert litter from the San Luis Rey and Santa Margarita watersheds!

We may be feeling some cabin fever lately due to staying safe and healthy at home, but there is a silver lining to social distancing – it is time to focus some TLC on our own neighborhoods! Please join us in this opportunity to protect the environment as well as ourselves, and “walk-your-block” Saturday morning.

Get your family together for a cleanup down the street! Invite your neighbors, and please practice responsible social distancing. Bring a bucket or bag from home, grab some kitchen or gardening gloves, and don”t forget your face-covering mask! You can make this cleanup truly zero-waste by using your own reusable supplies!

We will be tuning in on Zoom and broadcasting a kick-off including safety talk, recycling tips, and more direct to you! Join us at 9AM for this kick-off, and then beautify your neighborhood! After the cleanup, we can provide you community service verification for your work at this cleanup.

I Love A Clean San Diego will bring cleanup supplies and explain the impact of this cleanup on our watershed, as well as verify community service hours. This is a great opportunity to learn ways to protect our local environment!

We encourage volunteers to bring your own reusable items such as water bottles, work gloves, and buckets to help us in our mission to have a zero waste, litter free and environmentally engaged San Diego region!

All volunteers are required to fill out a waiver form to participate and anyone under the age of 18 needs a waiver signed by their parent or guardian.

Household Hazardous, Electronic, and Universal Waste Collection Event

San Diego County’s Department of Environmental Health, with funding from a CalRecycle grant, is holding a FREE household hazardous, electronic, and universal waste collection event in the parking lot of Ingold Sports Park on Saturday, June 8, 2019, from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. This event is open to all residents living in unincorporated parts of the county.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE is unused or leftover portions of products containing toxic chemicals used to maintain your residence. Products labeled Caution, Warning, Danger, Poison, Toxic, Flammable or Corrosive are considered hazardous.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE INCLUDES:

  • AEROSOLS
  • ALL PURPOSE CLEANERS
  • ANTIFREEZE
  • AUTO BATTERIES
  • AUTO FLUIDS
  • DISINFECTANTS
  • GASOLINE (w/container)
  • LIGHTER FLUID
  • USED OIL/OIL FILTERS
  • LATEX / OIL-BASED PAINT
  • PESTICIDES
  • POOL CHEMICALS
  • SOLVENTS
EMPTY CONTAINERS: Empty containers can go into the trash or be recycled.

Transportation Requirements: 

Leave products in the existing container, if possible. Make sure lids are on tight so containers will not leak. Transport containers in the trunk or in the back of the vehicle away from passengers and pets. Do not transport over 15 gallons or 125 pounds at one time. Containers used for transport must be no larger than a 5-gallon bucket. Please tape ends of household batteries.

Home-generated “sharps” including syringes and lancets will be collected during this event. Please transport in closed rigid containers.

Volunteers will meet at the Don Dussault County Park located at 832 Alturas Road, Fallbrook, CA 92028. This cleanup will serve as the kick off for ILACSD’s 2019 Watershed Warriors cleanup series and Fallbrook Beautification Alliance’s Keeping Fallbrook Litter-free program! We will meet at Don Dussault County Park to divert waste from the Santa Margarita watershed and preserve the area’s natural beauty!

ILACSD will bring all the cleanup supplies and explain the impact of this cleanup on our watershed. We also provide community service hours and Letters of Appreciation for volunteers. This is a great opportunity for students and families to learn ways to protect our local environment!

Fallbrook Tire Collection

CalRecycle, the County of San Diego Department of Public Works, and the Fallbrook Union High School District are hosting a FREE Tire Collection Event. Bring passenger vehicle tires to properly dispose of at this collection day! This free service for community residents will be offered from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at the Fallbrook High School Winter Haven Parking Lot located at 1050 Winter Haven Road, Fallbrook, CA 92028.

Tire Requirements:

  • Passenger vehicle tires only.
  • No tires from businesses.
  • Tires must be reasonably clean of dirt.
  • Only 9 tires per vehicle.
  • A limited number of tires with rims will be accepted.
  • Call 1-877-713-2784 to request pre-approval for tires with rims and loads of more than 9 tires.

We will be picking up trash around the park and the surrounding neighborhood to divert litter from entering the San Luis Rey watershed!

At the cleanup, we will be showcasing educational exhibits that discuss the impact of trash on our environment! We will also be bringing cleanup supplies. We encourage volunteers to bring their own reusable items such as water bottles, work gloves, and buckets to promote zero waste practices and help us in our mission to have a zero waste, litter free and environmentally engaged San Diego region! We also provide community service hours and Letters of Appreciation for volunteers.

The holiday season moves fast, and it will be the New Year before you know it. When that happens, you’re bound to hear the phrase “New Year, New Me” quite a few times. So we figured why not do the same for our communities? Join us to revitalize Fallbrook and head into the New Year with a Fresh Look for Fallbrook Cleanup on Saturday, December 9th, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Volunteers will meet at 4000 Dulin Road, Fallbrook, CA 92028.
