Transform Food Waste with Vermicomposting

Learn to reduce your food waste and compost at home! Join I Love A Clean San Diego for our free Transform Food Waste with Vermicomposting Workshop in the Old Poway Park’s Great room on Sunday, April 19th at 10:30am. During this workshop, we’ll cover:   

  • Ways to reduce food waste in the kitchen
  • Discuss the importance of keeping food waste out of landfills
  • Explain how red wigglers transform food waste into fresh compost
  • How to properly utilize the organic waste recycling program with your green bin
  • Tips and tricks on how to use the organic recycling bin

Attendees can make and take home a vermicomposting bin (worm composting) during the workshop we provide all supplies and information which will be provided to start composting at home! Supplies are limited to one bin per household, with priority given to residents of the Poway.

We’ll also have the Sprouting Station open for attendees to plant fruit and vegetable seeds to take home and grow – use the finished compost from your vermicomposting bin to fertilize!
