POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Educator I                             REPORTS TO: Education Director

Gain experience working with one of San Diego’s oldest environmental organizations as a part-time educator in the Education Department.  Duties will include presenting to schools and community organizations, as well as attending events all over San Diego County on resource conservation, storm water pollution prevention, waste reduction and recycling.  Other duties include marketing presentations, office help, and assistance with the coordination of Kids Ocean Day to be held in Spring 2009.   

Requirements:

  • Strong public speaking skills and the ability to communicate to a wide variety of age groups
  • 15-25 hours a week commitment with occasional weekend work
  • Reliable transportation, willingness to travel
  • Experience working with children, teaching experience preferred.
  • Environmental Education or Science background is preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • College students encouraged to apply

Compensation: $10/hour

The Educator I will work directly with our Education Director, and assist providing environmental information to encourage awareness in our community.  Come work with a dedicated, passionate group!
